Patrick Speck was born in Brazil in 1976. He graduated in Industrial Design from PUCPR – Pontifical
Catholic University, Curitiba PR in 2000, followed by a Master’s degree in Product Design and
Engineering from the same institution.
Between 2000 and 2006 Patrick worked for Electrolux Home Products, joining the Global Design Team,
in both Latin American (Brazil) and the European design studios (Italy), working for brands such as
Electrolux, Zanussi, Rex, AEG and Frigidaire.
In 2006 Patrick joined GROHE. Throughout the years, he held several senior positions in the design
department, supporting the brand around the globe and leading projects from concept to production.
In October 2018, Patrick was appointed VP of Design Transformation. In this role, he has been
responsible for ensuring the design vision was globally aligned across the LIXIL brand portfolio.
Since January 2020, Patrick is Leader LIXIL Global Design EMENA, increasing his responsibility with
regional design leadership for LIXIL’s Design Studios in Düsseldorf and London.
Patrick is responsible for delivering insight-driven and meaningful product solutions ensuring the
designs add real value to consumer lives.
Patrick is based in London, and leading the GROHE and Cobra brands, assuring the brands remain
well-defined, authentic and with a unique sense of purpose. In this function, he reports directly to Paul
Flowers, Leader LIXIL Global Design, Executive Vice President and in a dotted line to Leader LIXIL
EMENA.
His list of achievements includes several Intellectual Property files (Brazil, Europe and the US) both for
Electrolux and GROHE.
Together with the GROHE design team, he won several prestigious design awards such as iF Design
Awards, Red Dot Design Awards (incl. Best of the Best awards in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2019,
2020 and 2023), Good Design Awards, Good Design Japan, IDEA USA Gold Award 2018 and 2023 and
various other awards.
In 2011, the GROHE design team received one of the highest design accolades: "Red Dot: Design Team
of the Year".
In his early years, Patrick has also won the 1st prize at “18 Premio Design Museu da Casa Brasileira”
(2000 – Electrolux), the most significant design award in Latin America.
