Since its introduction to the market over 20 years ago, GROHE Eurosmart has continued to impress with the constant re-invention of its product range to answer customers’ evolving needs.
As the undisputed best-seller in the brand’s brassware range, the GROHE team has challenged themselves to look beyond product functions and instead, to reinvent one of its core products with a contemporary design and future-oriented functions.
It is this purpose that drove the relaunch of the Eurosmart portfolio in June 2021. As Jonas Brennwald, Leader LIXIL EMENA, explained, “Eurosmart evolves with every generation, which is crucial if you want to bring meaningful products to the market. Our environment is constantly transforming, and we need to react to changing needs with new product solutions… Eurosmart is the perfect proof that innovation is not limited to new lines. Innovating in a relevant way also means reinventing core products. Only these human-centric solutions enable us to create better homes.”
Product versatility at its best is when it meets today’s needs. With the relaunch of the Eurosmart basin faucets, GROHE has introduced smart designs to its existing product lines as well as presenting completely new products.
For example, the recent pandemic has forced a change in thinking to the meaning of hygiene and safe contact. To meet this need, GROHE has launched its first 2-in-1 hybrid tap that combines the benefits of a one-handed mixer with hygienic touch-free control.
The Eurosmart hybrid variant offers additional advantages when it comes to hygiene, presenting both the features of a manual handle as well as the touchless control. Activating water flow can be done either with the manual lever or the touch-free technology via an integrated sensor – it is completely up to the user. The additional option of touch-free activation greatly minimises the risk of spreading germs and cross-contamination, providing a sense of assuring comfort to the users.
GROHE’s motivation to meet user needs to this day is also proven in the creation of purpose-driven products. This is where the team has introduced new lever options and integrated thermostat to enhance user safety.
Presenting the Eurosmart Loop lever where a cut-out centre is instilled to simplify gripping; making it an ideal choice for those with limited or reduced motor skills Looking further into other needs in the health sector is, another lever variant is added to the Eurosmart collection in the form of an extra-long lever which enables doctors and healthcare professionals to operate the tap with their elbow, minimising hand contact with surfaces.
Providing these different lever options is GROHE’s response to how its solutions can contribute to people's lives through its human-centric design approach.
The re-invention does not stop here. For full flexibility and extra comfort, Eurosmart has also created a pull-out spout option, so cleaning and washing is made even easier and accessible.
In addition to the enhancements in its products’ form factor, GROHE has also integrated water- and energy-saving technologies in its Eurosmart collection to help users achieve a more sustainable lifestyle.
For instance, the GROHE EcoJoy technology reduces water flow whilst enriching the water with air, ensuring a voluminous flow and saving valuable resources at the same time - an excellent choice for eco-conscious consumers.
In addition, user assurance and safety are boosted with GROHE’s new safe stop technology in the Eurosmart collection, where water temperature can be controlled to reduce the risks of scalding, thanks to an integrated micro thermostat.
The fourth generation of GROHE Eurosmart collection is indeed the epitome of innovation leadership.
